JaMeshia Sykes, MA, LPC
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Yoga Teacher. I believe in using holistic and integrative therapies to achieve well-being. I believe therapy is an art. My unique style of therapy blends yoga, mindfulness-based practices, chakra/energy healing, and guided meditation with traditional psychotherapy skills I learned in graduate school. Both psychotherapy and integrative therapies seek to help individuals live their truth, increase overall happiness, overcome barriers, and achieve/maintain a feeling of contentment. It is important to explore and nourish the mind, body, and spirit when striving towards well-being.
I enjoy working with those who believe their life can be grand, and they are willing to work towards it! Sessions with me focus on increasing well-being and positive emotions, rather than just problems. Therapy is for anyone and you do not need a mental health diagnosis, or be in a crisis, to benefit. Healing occurs when people feel safe, supported and heard, are able to speak freely, and be their authentic self without fear of judgement or criticism. I create a space where you feel welcomed, comfortable, supported, and validated.
I look forward to working with you on your journey towards well-being.
